Persys Registry Authority
PRA is the client module for decentralised card creation,
typically installed at each of an organisation’s branch locations. Cards are created in just two easy steps:
1.Select the user, insert the card.
2.Click Personalise Card.
You’re done! Secure Office does the rest automatically.
An X.509 user certificate is published to the card,
the LDAP directory and, if you are using Bullwark for smart card logon, to the Bullwark database.
One default PIN is created for authentication and
another for digital signature. The system forces the user to personalise
the PIN codes at the first use of the card. That’s all there is
to it.
PRA functions.
Depending on the organisation’s security policy, the
local operator can:
Create new user cards.
Create temporary cards.
Block/unblock cards.
Invalidate cards.
Extract a forgotten PIN code.
Search the database of card/user records.
Assignable local functions.
The operations relegated to the local Registry module
can be extended or restricted to conform to an organisation’s
security policy. The company can, for example, require that one or more specific operations be confirmed with
an administrator’s smart card.
