The Secure Office assurance
against compromise begins with protection of the primary
authority keys. The fundamental keys that are critcal to security are created within the organisations own walls rather than being trusted to an outside agency.
KGS creates the primary key cards (and
backups) in a one-time operation. The hard disk used for this operation
is then reformatted, destroyed, or vault-secured. The CA key card
is used to create the Root Certification Authority from which the
online CAs are created for all
subsequent certificate signing operations.
Creating primary key cards is an easy two step operation:
1. Choose a key card profile.
2. Click Make Card.
