With 17,000 employees in 600 different locations, RFV, Sweden's
Dept of Social Security stood to gain much in efficiency and economy
by replacing paper forms with digital media.
The aim:
Economical conversion to e-based workflow including:
Load balanced, fault tolerant storage.
Regulation-compliant confidentiality.
Secure authorisation functionality.
The solution:
One Persys CA module handles the 17,000 user certificates.
Record storage for 600 branch locations distributed across 30 Bullwark
servers.
One Persys server deploys 600 RA modules, one at each local branch
to register/manage smart cards for the local employee group.
All network access is subject to EID smart card authentication and
all file encryption carried out via keys carried on the individual
smart card.
Digital signature authorised by the same authenticated smart card,
carrying the same legal weight as a signed contract.
